Director statement regarding reporting for duty:
At this time, all VA Sunshine Healthcare Network (VISN 8) facilities including outpatient clinics are fully operational.
Employees are expected to adhere to the routine notification process if unable to report for duty.
During an Emergency:
Guidance for Reporting for Duty
Your supervisor, with instructions from director of the VISN 8 Network Director, will determine your work status during an emergency situation. Do not assume you are excused especially if your position has been designated essential. Talk to your supervisor today about your status and how you should contact him or her during a crisis. Patient care continues and your presence may be crucial to continued hospital operations.
Employee Helpline All VA employees, who evacuate an area because of a natural or man-made disaster, are required to check in with their status, location, and contact information by calling the VISN 8 TelCare number at 1-877-741-3400. During a crisis situation, operators are available 24 hours, seven days a week. You must call as soon as you have made evacuation plans and have contact information available or within 48 hours of the crisis situation.
