Tropical Storm Erika

We are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Erika's approach to South Florida and will be doing so throughout the weekend and beyond.

All VISN 8 staff should report to work on Monday as scheduled unless notified otherwise by your supervisor or via Live Process, the network’s Emergency Notification system.

Meanwhile, as monitoring and preparation efforts continue for the storm at all of our Florida and VA Caribbean facilities, you are encouraged to create or review a basic emergency plan for you and your loved ones. Building a disaster supply kit is a simple and effective way to make sure your family has enough water, food, medicine and other essential supplies.

For information on hurricane and emergency preparedness please visit www.ready.gov to learn about preparedness kits, family emergency plans, and more. For storm updates, please visit the National Weather Service website at www.weather.gov.
