VA Sunshine Healthcare Network Executive Director Receives Presidential Rank Award

TAMPA, Fla. — David B. Isaacks, FACHE, Director, VA Sunshine Healthcare Network (VISN 8), was among 12 VA career senior executive service (SES) leaders who received a 2022  Presidential Rank Award during a ceremony heldThe VA Secretary poses with David B. The Civil Service Reform Act of 1978 established the Presidential Rank Awards Program to recognize a select group of career members of the Senior Executive Service (SES) for exceptional performance over an extended period.

Later, the Rank Award statute was amended to extend eligibility to senior career employees with a sustained record of exceptional professional, technical, and/or scientific achievement recognized on a national or international level. Two categories of Presidential Rank Award are available, Distinguished Rank and Meritorious Rank.

Isaacks was appointed as the VISN 8 executive director in October 2022 and oversees the delivery of health care to nearly 800,000 Veterans and an operating budget of $9.2 billion. Read his full bio here: www.visn8.va.gov/VISN8/about/leadership.asp.
