Miami VA Healthcare System Hosts PACT Act Fair

The Miami VA Healthcare System held a PACT Act fair at the William “Bill” Kling Clinic March 11, 2023. The PACT Act is the largest expansion of Veterans’ benefits and expands the Department of Veterans Affairs’ health care benefits to Veterans of the Vietnam, Gulf War and post-9/11 eras who were exposed to toxic fumes, burn pits, Agent Orange, radiation, and other environmental hazards.
“This is an amazing time for our Veterans”, said Raquel Bulford-Frazier, Assistant Medical Center Director, Miami VA. “This Fair is a one stop shop for our Veterans to be able to get the one-on-one support they need with understanding, applying, and using their benefits and services.”
More than 100 attendees spoke with a different VA Benefit specialist about the PACT Act related claims and eligibility.
“It helped me a lot,” said Patrick Dune, Vietnam Veteran. “I got an increase in my percentages by submitting an updated claim. I want to get the word out for all the Veterans out there that this is real.”
Since President Biden signed the PACT Act into law on Aug. 10, 2022, Veterans have filed nearly 300,000 PACT Act-related claims.
