In the VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center, Veterans who are enrolled for care at any of the medical centers or clinics in the Bay Pines, Gainesville, Lake City, Miami, Orlando, San Juan, Tampa, and West Palm Beach VA Healthcare Systems are at the heart of everything we do!  We’ve been established since 2019 and have answered over 9 million calls.

The VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center can provide virtual urgent care and support to Veterans - whether it’s general administrative support, nurse triage, virtual visits with a doctor or nurse practitioner, pharmacy services, or appointment scheduling and management – we’re here for you around the clock, 365 days a year!

Effective Thursday, March 28, we have expanded our capabilities and are now able to provide Tele Emergency Care, or Tele-EC, for Veterans who are determined to need an emergent or elevated level of urgent care. Tele-EC does NOT replace traditional emergency room care. If you are experiencing a life-threatening medical or psychiatric emergency, please call 9-1-1 or visit the emergency room closest to you.

Tele Emergency Care can help treat many common conditions including, but not limited to:

  • minor cuts, scrapes, rashes and skin irritations
  • tick, insect and spider bites
  • common cold, cough and flu symptoms
  • headaches
  • sprains, back pain and joint pain/stiffness
  • pink eye
  • urinary tract infections
  • upset stomach and constipation

We are delighted to create meaningful patient experiences with first contact resolution – getting it right and resolving your need during your contact with us.  As care partners with your primary care provider, we document in your electronic health record so that all providers engaged in your care have the information they need to meet your medical needs.  It also allows our clinical and administrative staff to gain familiarity with your overarching care needs as we work to meet your immediate needs.
